Welcome to Old Glenridge Therapeutics!  I offer Registered Massage Therapy for all ages and stages of life.  Let me introduce myself…..

My name is Lindsay Milburn and I have been a practicing massage therapist in the Niagara Region since 2002.  Over the course of my career I have worked in clinic and spa settings offering treatment to clients young and old.  For most of this time I have been in private practice in Niagara Falls.   Since the beginning of my career I have dreamed of working out of my home, in a tranquil and stress free environment, where I can offer flexible hours to my busy clients.

I have training and experience in many different modalities and I have worked with a wide variety of injuries, illnesses and fitness levels.  Over time I have developed my own philosophy of health and self care which I would love to share with you.

My treatments focus on the root cause of the pain, stress, and dis ease that we seem to all be feeling.  My goal for everyone I meet is to decrease the pain that we are all living with, be it physical, emotional or mental.  You may think that working on your emotional and mental pain is way  outside my scope of training and practice, but your nervous system would disagree.  Let me work on your physical symptoms with the goal of activating the parasympathetic nervous system, the ‘rest and digest’ response so that we can decrease all the other pain you’re dealing with.  Let me help you to de stress.

Let’s  get back to optimal health.   Together we can work on a plan to rediscover the relaxed, focused, pain free person you were meant to be.

Services

Initial Appointment ~ In order to provide the best possible service to a new client the initial appointment provides a thorough assessment and discussion of health goals prior to the massage.  You will then spend a full 60 minutes on the table receiving a massage completely tailored to you.  You can expect to leave your appointment with a list of home care suggestions and a plan for continued care and maintenance for optimal health.  90 minutes

Relaxation Massage  ~  Allow your body to return to a state of deep relaxation.  The goal of this massage is to slow everything down so that the mind can let go and the body can fully relax.  Feel  your heart rate slow down as your muscles release their tension. 60 or 90 minutes

Therapeutic Massage  ~  Need a little extra ‘work’ done?  A therapeutic  massage targets the deeper muscle layers, tendons, and fascia.  This is a great treatment for specific injuries or rehabilitation projects.   We can target certain areas for treatment or deal with the whole body in order to release chronic tension.  A therapeutic massage is tailored specifically for each unique body. 60 or 90 minutes

Prenatal Massage  ~  The woman’s body goes through many changes during pregnancy that can cause pain and discomfort in different areas.  Regular prenatal massage  can help to relieve most common aches and pains as well as keep mum relaxed and happy throughout one of the most transformational times in her life.   Using extra cushioning helps to support the growing ‘bump’ over the months and allows mum to receive the most effective treatment possible. 60 or 90 minutes

Children’s Massage ~ (up to age 12) The growing body of a child can hold the same (and often more due to the constant growth) tension and pain as that of an adult.   Many children are also athletes dealing with heavy demands on their soft tissues.  The children’s massage is a shortened duration due to their smaller bodies needing less time to receive the desired results.  Please speak to me directly if you have specific questions around massage and your child.  A parent is required to be present for the entire duration of the child’s massage.

Hot Stone Massage  ~  The deep moist heat of the basalt lava stones softens the muscles and allows a deep and soothing treatment.  Knots and tension melt away.  This treatment can be a 45 minute Back, Neck, and Shoulder massage or a 75 minute Full Body massage.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage  ~    This is a therapeutic treatment using very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body.  It transports nutrients and oxygen to cells, collecting toxins on the way and flushing them out through the lymph nodes.  Lymphatic drainage supports the immune system and is useful at the change of seasons as the body adjusts to temperature and daylight changes. 60 minutes
